Hi everyone! How are all you guys? I am doing fabulous here in the land down under, everyday more amazed at God's power! This last week was all about Spiritual warfare, our speaker was Dean Sherman. It was all about rebuking the enemy, mostly in our thoughts but also in physical situations and how to go about doing that.
One thing that majorly stood out to me was that we need to police our minds! This is so important because so many times we think we aren't in control of our thoughts and our mind can go off on so many different tangents. I will constantly catch myself thinking just terrible thoughts about someone just because of what they're wearing or doing, basically just to bring myself up! We can do this so easily if we aren't aware that we can control it! One thing that helps me is to think "okay i am having this thought, why am i thinking this where did this come from and does it line up with godly thinking?" When doing this it's easy to recognize sinful thoughts and thoughts from satan.
This is the main thing i got out of last week, but if you have any questions or want to know more, just ask!
Some of the stuff that has been going on outside of the classroom includes, trips to the city and just hanging out with the awesome people here! The last few Saturday nights, we have been going to a gym in the local community and have been coaching kids from 7-12. These are aboriginal kids who come to stay out of trouble and it's so awesome to see how they respond to people who actually invest time in their lives!
Also this whole time i have been here, we have been visiting the juvenile detention center in Perth and just hanging out with the kids that are in there. It's such a rewarding experience to hang out with these kids, they are a great bunch and i know God has such a plan for them! It is really awesome as well to see how much they enjoy having us come in, they can't believe people would actually want to come in and hang out with them!
This past weekend, the music DTS put on a concert in order to fundraise for outreach fees. Man, they are so talented and blessed it's crazy! It was such a blast especially at the end when we got up and started dancing to Bob Marley!
