Outreach #2

Okay, so hello once again! Our team has just gotten back to Perth, getting ready to fly out to Uganda Sunday night. We have had an amazing outreach in the Kimberley but now it's time for AFRICA! Our sports DTS is very excited because in Uganda we will meet up with the 3 guys from our team that spent the first half of outreach in Russia.

So i think when i left off last time, i was telling about our time in Fitzroy Crossing. So after our time there, our team headed to a town called Noonkanbah about 200 Kilometers out in the middle of nowhere....like everything in the Kimberley. So there was a church convention going on in Noonkanbah the 3 1/2 days we were there and our team was asked to help with the kids programming.
We taught the kids songs (with dancing actions of course), had teachings about Jesus, had a time of application wit the teaching and then finished off our sessions with a game or two. The kids in Noonkanbah were so much fun, they would come up to us and just hang off every word we said, which made me feel important...haha. The kids loved hanging out with us and learning about Jesus, and at the end of the weekend, when asked if they wanted a friend like Jesus, about 20 of the kids raised their hands and accepted Jesus into their hearts.
We had quite a bit of free time in Noonkanbah, which was mostly spent down at the river, swimming and swinging off the rope swing. Luckily we didn't spot any crocs, although i did find a pig jaw bone, with teeth and everything just sitting in the water, which was pretty sweet.
Our next destination was Looma. I absolutely loved Looma. The kids were so awesome and always wanting to hang out with us. We took the kids to the river a couple times and just got to spend really good quality time with them playing sports and sharing testimonies. It was so evident that God was moving in Looma and that He has big things planned for that place.
Our final place for ministry was Broome, but to be honest this was more of a relaxing time. We stayed at Victory Life Church there and we're absolutely blessed beyond belief! There was 24/7 air con and wifi! Our and we had two beach volleyball courts in our backyard! The leaders at the church were so awesome. A couple of the youth leaders even let us (all 23) into their home to take showers...on multiple occasions! It was so awesome to see the spirit of God moving through the church. And on the Sunday church service, they took up a love offering for our team and blessed our team with over $1000...God always takes care of us. But it was so touching to see these people of Victory Life to give so freely and generously when we had just met them 3 days ago!
While we were at a laundromat in broome, my DTS mate Brittany and I were used by God to bring healing to a man with cataracts and a sore back. We layed hands on his eyes and afterword he said his vision was no longer hazy and he could see clear as day! GOD IS SO COOOL! We went to the beach multiple times in Broome, it really is such a lovely city, we even got to take a free double-decker tour bus ride around Broome because the people of the church owned the tour thing! So we were so flipping blessed is was awesome, truly awesome!
Outreach has been really challenging but also a lot of fun, our team is starting to really bond and it is so funny when you get a group of people (from all over the world) together...you never know what can happen. Throughout our time in the Kimberley God has really been discipling me in the area of laziness. Especially in the sense of choosing to go out and talk to people or evangelize instead of staying back and taking a nap or something...this is during free time of course. So i found that the more i get out there and share about God, the more i have seen Him move. I have also been learning a lot about prayer. There is so much power in prayer and i have always been one to stay quiet during corporate prayer times just because i was fearful that i would have nothing good to say. But the fact of the matter is things happen when we pray and especially when we speak it out loud. And so the more i have been stepping up and speaking out in these corporate prayer times, the more i have seen breakthrough and God moving.
The girls in our team have been doing a bible study through the book of Ecclesiastes throughout our time. DANG, there is so much wisdom in that book, it's crazy. God taught us all so much about the purpose of living, and has really given us all revelation on how everything we do that is apart from Him and His will is meaningless. If you haven't read through Ecclesiastes, i would really encourage you to do so. It is my first time through the book and there is so many good things to pull from it!
