WEEK SIETE

Heyyyyyyy y'all! haha I can't even take myself seriously when i say that.  So much has been going on here and in my life it's just craziness! God has been doing some major things within me and it's seriously so awesome, i love the feeling!  This week has been all about the Fear of the Lord.  Our speaker was Ari Sloots, he's pretty well known around base, having been in Perth for 14 years!

The first thing Ari told us was what the fear of the Lord actually is (no it's not actually being scared of God).  It is defined as us walking in righteousness, worshiping God and having a hate for sin.  Hating sin is something that is so important but is something so many of us don't do because the temptation of instant gratification is too strong for us to overcome.  We ultimately keep sinning because we love it and don't have a true understanding of God's glory.  Because if we really understood God's character and goodness, we would hate sin just as much as He does.  We talked about fearing the Lord in relationships, and with our communication, which happen to be 2 of my biggest struggles, haha! Ari really shed light on the fact that we need to get our priorities straight in our relationships with others and  how we can actually affect others by how we go about fearing the Lord in relationships.

The next major thing we learned is fearing the Lord in our communication. This includes body language, gossiping and what actually comes out of our mouths.  Because our words have the power of life and death.  Think about that for a second, our words have the power of LIFE AND DEATH.  So we better try to guard what we say!

Obedience was the other topic that goes hand-in-hand with fear of the Lord.  If we don't COMPLETELY  obey God in everything we do, then we don't really have a good perspective of who He is.  How to get the fear of the Lord?
             1. Recognizing we don't have it
             2. Asking God for it
             3. Obeying what He tells us to do

We need to constantly keep ourselves in check by making sure we have it!

On a lighter note, great stuff has been happening around base!  We had gansta friday where all the boiz dressed up in their best ghetto outfits, seriously hysterical.  This weekend was so great also, we just had such a relaxing time.  Gabi and I really felt God putting it on our hearts to evangelize on Saturday so we went down to the river with a couple of music DTS-ers and started worshiping, it was so good.  Then last night we had midnight basketball, which is what we do as a sports DTS to help out with the kids in Midland.  They come at around 7 on saturday night to come play basketball and we just coach them up and get to hang out with them, they are so much fun!  Today was great too! I got to have an awesome lunch with my sister and the Wieners (a family here on base).  We had the best meal ever, salmon, steak and shrimp! Seriously a meal fit for a king!  Oh and i'm also learning how to play the guitar! yay!

Our DTS is gearing up to go to outreach and i still am praying and trusting God for outreach fees, so yeah i would LOVE any support I could get!
That's all for now! Love you guys :)
